Welcome to the September MBTBC Newsletter. It is my intention to distribute a newsletter, at the beginning of the following month, to all full members of MBTBC.
Financial: August was a strong month for the club achieving double digit growth against budget and an even stronger growth result verses last year. This result is on the back of positive results every month this financial year. As a result cash reserves remain strong and all creditor accounts are up to date including the ATO which remains in terms.
Transfer of 35 marina berths to the club: As advised at the AGM the 35 remaining marina berths are in the process of being transferred to the club from the marina. These berths will remain under the management of the marina and net income, after marina and other fees are paid, will return to the club. This transfer is expected to be completed by October.
Southern Haven: The southern haven is now once again fully operational thanks to the efforts of several members. During September the Interclub Bay Cruisers used the facility for one night of celebration. Please refer to the haven report for more details.
Special Interest Groups: During September members of the Committee met with the Sailing Group to discuss how the Committee can work closer with the Special Interest Groups. I am pleased to say that the meeting was very positive and we will extend the same invitation to the Fishing Group and the Jetski Group in October. Access to the club boat has now also been extended to these groups for official events.
Club House: During the period leading up to Christmas there will be several upgrades / maintenance projects undertaken. The roof that is currently leaking will be repaired, the front of the clubhouse will be painted, the ceiling inside will be painted, the bar will be modified to allow quicker service and three new pokies will be installed. This is part of a longer-term program to restore the club house to its former glory for the enjoyment of all members.
Your Committee are currently working on new member programs which I hope to talk more about next month.
Please enjoy this newsletter, feel free to contribute and see you at the club soon.
